What a difference a year makes! A lot has happened in Gallatin in the last year. We’ve opened new roads, expanded our business and industry, and implemented new and innovative services. While we’ve completed many projects, there are even more on the horizon.
Gallatin’s wonderful location surrounded by rolling hills, the Cumberland River and Old Hickory Lake – and its proximity to Nashville just 25 minutes away – makes it an attractive destination.
Gallatin is now home to five corporate headquarters that do business on an international level. The City recently expanded its industrial park by 207 acres to meet the growing interest.
We’ve opened new roads linking two of the city’s main arteries. These roads not only provide easier travel and access, but also open opportunities for development. We have other road projects in various stages to meet the needs of our growing community.
One of those road projects will improve access into Gallatin’s historic downtown where three exciting projects are close to construction – the downtown streetscape, the new Farmer’s Market, and the Town Creek Greenway. Downtown is home to our new public library. We now also provide free wireless throughout our downtown.
Other exciting and important developments in Gallatin include the expansion of Sumner Regional Medical Center providing state-of-the-art healthcare; rapid bus service to Nashville; plans for a new marina with 205 boat slips; added recycling options; and, plans for expansion to the Sumner Regional Airport. We’ve added new venues to our city park system, new equipment to the city-owned Long Hollow Golf Course, and a new reception hall at Historic Rose Mont.
