Public Works Department

The Public Works Department comprises five divisions:  Streets, Environmental Services, Animal Control, Vehicle Maintenance, and General Government Buildings.  All Gallatin streets, signs, drainage systems, sidewalks, as well as right of way mowing activities are carried out and maintained by the Streets Division.  Environmental Services provides daily curbside trash and Friday bulk pickups (except for holiday weeks), and it services daily brush removal routes.  Animal Control’s function is to respond to dog bites, dead animal pick-up, animal nuisance abatements, and general animal-related complaints.  Vehicle Maintenance services and repairs city equipment and city fleet vehicles.  City buildings and all other city-owned facilities (except for Civic Center parks) are maintained and repaired by the General Government Buildings Division.
